Ways to Relieve Anxiety

Here are a couple of things that you can do to relieve anxiety:

1. Take a break from your studies and work, especially if this is an anxiety trigger for you.

Studying for school often makes me very anxious, worried, and stressed. so i try to stop what i'm doing just for a bit and get back to it when i feel more relaxed.

2. Slow, deep breaths!!

I honestly can't emphasize this enough. breathing techniques are so helpful, as they help lower your heart rate, blood pressure, and as a result relax your brain and body.

3. Exercise or meditate

Go for a walk, jog, run, pull out a mat and do some yoga, etc. do whatever makes you comfortable!

4. Write down your feelings

If you identify any unpleasant feelings, acknowledge them. know that they are only temporary and that you CAN gain control of them.

5) Distract yourself with an activity or hobby.

You can listen to music, take photos, do a sport, draw, watch a movie, etc.

6) Light a candle with a calm scent such as lavender, rosemary, chamomile, and more.

These are definitely not the only ways to calm down anxious thoughts and feelings, but have helped me relieve my anxiety in the past.
