Your emotions are valid

Hello Beautiful Human!

Today (actually, everyday) I want you to know that,

Your emotions are valid.

Your emotions are valid.

Your emotions are valid.

Whatever you are feeling is perfectly normal.

You are not “weird” for feeling the way that you feel.

Frustration, anger, and distress are not “wrong” feelings to have. 

We rely on them to express ourselves,

liberate our minds,

build resilience,

decide what we want to do for ourselves and others,

and understand who we really are.

The next healthiest step you can take is to recognize and accept your feelings. 

Calm down and step away from all of the tasks you are currently working on

for as long as you need to,

and come back when you feel that you are ready. 

Take all of the time that you need.

As you regroup your thoughts, write them down. Journal, stand up and stretch, or listen to soothing tunes. Do something that can help you relax and take your mind off of sources of worry and stress.

Afterward, if you feel that your mood has improved (even the slightest bit counts! Don’t overlook it.) in any way, shape, or magnitude, then applaud yourself for fearlessly facing discomfort, and appreciate the progress your mind and body have made.

If you still feel the same afterward (which is totally okay!), reassure yourself that patience is key.

Remember,

you are not alone. 

You are strong

and empowered.

You are heard

and so loved.
